

Reba Dolores Perkins Smeltzer of Fort Smith passed away February 17, 2022. She was a long-time resident of El Dorado and Smackover. She retired from the National Bank of Commerce as an Assistant Vice President after 32 years of service. Reba was an accomplished, self-taught artist. Her talents included painting, photography, crafting, set design, floral arrangement, and clothing design. She loved sharing the results of her talent with friends and family.
Her enthusiasm for celebrating the magic and beauty of all things Christmas was passed down as her legacy to her children and grandchildren. She created traditions that carry on through generations. Her yearly Christmas trees were always eagerly anticipated by everyone waiting to see this year’s special theme and beautiful decorations.
She loved her trips to the casinos with her sister and her fishing trips with her father, brother, and son.
She was a fabulous cook. Her home cooking was the highlight of every meal. Recipes have been requested and passed on more times than can be counted. Her family will never start to prepare a meal without hearing her voice in their head saying “First – wash your hands!”
She was an avid Facebook fan and developed many long-lasting friendships and loved playing Words with Friends.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Don Smeltzer, Her daughter Lynda Smeltzer Goodbar of Fort Smith, daughter Sheri Smeltzer Stell (husband Tim) of Fort Smith, and son Danny Smeltzer (wife Sherry) of Smackover. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Lesli Conway, Ashli Hunt, Danyelle Smeltzer and Gray Stell. She leaves behind two great grandchildren, Memphis and Vincent, and two nephews.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Monday February 21, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
