Roy G. Murphy, Jr.

Roy G. “Dusty” Murphy, Jr., 67 of El Dorado, passed away, August 1, 2014, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born January 30, 1947, to Roy G. Murphy, Sr. and Lillian “Cissie” Cheatham Murphy in Gurdon, AR.

He was the owner of ARCO Home Improvement for nearly 30 years. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death are his parents; and sister, Peggy Prince.

Survivors include his two daughters, Stacie Martin (Trey) of Louann, Christy Cottrell (Wade) of El Dorado; the mother of his children, Susan Murphy of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Lexis Murphy, Lillie Martin and Vance Martin; brother-in-law, John Prince of Hot Springs Village, AR; and niece Tia Prince Helberg of Luxembourg.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014, at Young’s Chapel with Dr. J.D. Weido officiating and military honors will be conducted in the chapel immediately following the service. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private.
