Sallye Beasley Herring, 92, of El Dorado, Ark, died on May 30, 2011. She was born on September 9, 1918, to William Hershel and Corrine Askew Beasley in Waldo, Ark. She was a 59 year resident of El Dorado who was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and much loved by all. Sallye and her four siblings grew up in Texarkana and Waldo, AR, in close proximity to grandparents, a great grandmother and numerous cousins. Her Askew grandparents alone had 16 grandchildren providing many cousins for family gatherings and a source for many stories.
Sallye was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom as was so common in her generation. She had a particular knack for flower gardening and flower arranging that resulted in an attractive yard, frequent awards through garden club activity, and beautiful arrangements at various functions at church. Sallye was morally, mentally, and spiritually strong. This provided a fortunate example for her children, grandchildren and other youth. She was Sunday school teacher and youth group leader at First Christian Church. Ready or not, she quite often had advice at hand. Hers was a good lesson on how to lead a Christian life and grow old gracefully.
Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 59 years Grady F. Herring, Sr.; her two brothers, Edward and Bill Beasley; and her two sisters, Mary Helen Hollowell and Corrine Price.

Williams (Nathan) of Memphis, and Robert Herring (Little Rock); and daughter Sarah Herring (Little Rock). Her Great Grandchildren are Joseph and Kenneth Williams.
