
Sara Elizabeth Hill, 82 of Smackover, passed away Monday, September 12, 2011, in Gainsville, GA after a sudden illness. She was born December 14, 1928, to Perry C. and Jennie Matt Everett in Newton, MS.
Sarah was office manager of K Mart until her retirement at the age of 62. She retired again in 2011 from Oak Ridge Nursing Home where she worked in medical records. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Smackover, AR for the last 60 years where she enjoyed her Sunday School Class.
She was an excellent seamstress and flower gardener. She loved to cook and was especially proud of her fund raising efforts for “Relay for Life” by selling her famous delicious pound cakes. She will be missed by her family friends and her hummingbirds.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Roy S. Hill, who passed away in November of 1975; two brothers, Perry C. Everett, Samuel Kennedy Everett; sister, Helen Everett Coker; and brother-in-law, Thomas Reeves.
Survivors include her three children, Mike Hill and wife Crista of Gainesville, GA, Debbie Doran of Portsmouth, VA, and Rick Hill and wife Lyn of Farmerville, LA; eight grandchildren, Zac Hill and wife Melanie of Cleveland, GA, Ty Hill, Paige Crumley, both of Gainesville, GA, Mindy McMullin of Waukesha, WI, Casey McMullin, of Denver CO, Molly McMulln of St. Tropez, France, Josh Hill of Little Rock, AR, Brady Hill of Dubach, LA; brother, Wardell Everett and wife Annie of Dayton, TN; sister, Odell Everett Reeves of Decatur, MS, four great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Smackover. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Vaughn Blue officiating. Burial will be held at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
