

Sarah Lee Johnson Smith Green, 95 of El Dorado, AR, died on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at her home following a sudden illness. Born on May 15, 1918 in Strong, AR, she was the daughter of Athur Lee and Mary Edna Berry Johnson.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Norphlet. Sarah was a graduate of Northwest State in Louisiana. During WWII she worked in an ammunition plant in Washington State. She coached basketball in Strong while her sister coached in Huttig, needless to say, there was a little rivalry going on. Sarah was a retired accountant and had worked at Lion Oil Corporation and Murphy Oil Corporation. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, David “Red” Smith and Wayland “Pete” Green; two brothers, Fritz and Pete Johnson; and one sister, Polly Welch.
Survivors are a daughter, Mary Alice Mason (Steve) of Norphlet, AR; three grandchildren, Tammy Brantley (Chuck) of Bryant, AR, Tracy Wallace (Paul) of Bella Vista, AR and Thad Mason (Cindee) of Norphlet; and eleven great grandchildren, Rachel, Claire, Luke, and Lauren Brantley, Samantha, Sydney, Cy, and Sadie, Grayson Hurst, Drew and Delaney Mason; several nieces and nephews, and two caregivers, who loving cared for her, Diane Robinson and Beverly Richmond.
Visitation was held Friday night, June 28, 2013, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm, Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Norphlet with Rev. Lawrence Harrison and Rev. Doug Wills officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
