Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) White, parents Cleet and Cecile Mason Williams, brother Rodney Williams and sister Patsy McKnight.
She is survived by her sons, James M. (J.) White, III and Jonathan (Jon) White and his wife Diana; grandchildren Monroe White (and wife Jesse), Margaret (Margot) White, Helena White and Joaquin White; sisters, Janet Miller and Alice Mahony, brother, Frankie Williams, extended family and many dear friends.
Sylvia graduated from Junction City High School and South Arkansas College. She was the first woman in the State of Arkansas to be licensed as a stockbroker by the Securities Exchange Commission. She artfully balanced her professional life with her roles as wife, mother, sister and friend, and enjoyed her years as a grandmother and devoted follower of Christ. She will be missed deeply by her family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2026 at West Side Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
