March 29, 1933 – May 23, 2019
Una Evelyn Boyle Blagg passed away at the age of 86 on Thursday, May 23, 2019 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Una was the third generation born in the Boyle Home in Malvern, AR on March 29, 1933. She was the only child of William Frederick Boyle, Jr. and Grayce Evelyn Connell Boyle. Una spent her early years in Malvern and Phoenix, AZ before moving to El Dorado in 1945. A graduate of El Dorado High School, Una was involved in Thespians, worked as a Yearbook staffer and also served as a Senior Life Guard for the Red Cross. In 1951 she married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Blagg, Jr.; a union which blessed them with three daughters and lasted for 61 years.
Una happily embraced El Dorado life, volunteering as a Red Cross Gray Lady, PTA Officer, Campfire Girl’s Leader, Fine Arts Auxiliary Member, and El Dorado Jr. Service League Member/Office. She was also a member of Eastern Star and Athena Club. Una spent many years shuttling carloads of girls to and fro; from plum-picking to The Rialto and out of town rock concerts, shopping trips, and football games. An accomplished Bridge player, Una was honored as a Life Master in 1988. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities and was a choir member for 50 years.
Preceding her in death are her parents, grandson Ian Matthews, and her husband. She is survived by her daughters, MeMe King, Holly Matheney, and Joy Matthews (Donald), and grandchildren Tif King, Zac King (Janis), Thomas, James, and MaryHollis Matheney, Brooklyn, Grace Ellen and Alex Matthews (Brittany). Una loved them all, including 4 great grandchildren, her dear cousins John and Ben Hawkins and sister-in-law Jacquelyn B. Miller.
The family expresses their gratitude to the Nurses and Staff of Hudson Memorial Nursing Home and LifeTouch Hospice. What a blessing they have been to our family.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I certainly enjoyed singing in choir with Una at St Paul. She was such a wonderful person and an excellent cook. I enjoyed many of her dishes at potluck meals. My prayers are with all of you.

I am sorry that my Aunt Una has passed from this world but I know she is in a better place. I was always happy to visit my relatives in Eldorado and my Uncle Tommy and my Aunt Una were my favorites. I favored Aunt Una because she was always expressive around us. Happy to see us, laughing and welcoming us to her home. May she rest in peace.

with prayers, sympathy, and love to Hollis and family in the passing of your Beloved Mother and Grandmother. We are grateful she had shared worship with us at Westlake United Methodist Church for your family life events. May you be comforted by treasured memories, our Loving God, and the connection of family and friends.

Hollis- your Mom was so much fun in NYC on our trip many years ago. She loved fashion, theater and good food, all of which is a mirror image of how you live today. I know you will miss her but know that she is at peace, and has found your Dad in heaven, and all her former Doncaster customers that were also waiting on her!

Joy and Donald, so sorry for your loss! The few times we were around your Mother, she was always the perfect lady. The loss will be hard and pain real. Remember the happy times and focus on the good memories, which I am sure there many.

Una was a big portion of a few years of my life. She and I had apartments at The Villa, during our retirement years. She was so kind to me, I loved her daughters, visiting with them when they came to see her. My prayers, love, and sympathy to the family are in evidence.
