Willard Amason Thurmon, 95, of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. He was born August 12, 1922, to Oscar William and Lizzie Lou Simmons Thurmon in Summerfield, LA.
He was a retired carpenter and bricklayer, the Financial Secretary for Union Local Bricklayers International Arkansas for 40 years, and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife of 60 years, Gloria Thurmon; son, David Michael Thurmon; and brother, James Hugh Thurmon.
Survivors include his son, John Marshall Thurmon and his wife, Lynn of El Dorado; granddaughter, Courtney Machen; two grandsons, Jeremiah Thurmon, Joshua Thurmon; and four great grandchildren, Abigail Machen, Justin Machen, Alexis Machen, and Catalina Thurmon.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Young's.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 at Hebron Cemetery near Summerfield, LA under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
