Bill was born to Ray and Irene Richardson Griffin on August 24, 1947, in El Dorado, Arkansas. A 1966 graduate of Junction City High School, he married Bonnie Crawford on August 30, 1968, beginning a 57-year marriage. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972, stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Following his military service, he worked in the sheet metal industry and later retired from Cross Oil and Refining in Smackover, Arkansas for over 30 years.
Bill had a strong faith in the Lord and was an active member of Scotland Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder for over 30 years.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, horses, hunting and riding Harleys. He loved the Colorado mountains and looked forward to his yearly trips with friends and family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Chris Griffin (Alice); grandsons, Zac and Easton Griffin; daughter-in-law, Jeanne, and granddaughter, Gracie Griffin; sister, Kay Watson (Vic); brother-in-law, Mike Crawford (Jenny); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Griffin; parents, Ray and Irene Griffin; parents-in-law, Ray and Inez Crawford; and brother, Jimmy Griffin (Sally).
The family would like to thank Lifetouch Hospice and caregivers Colette Kersch and Debbie O’Brien for their kindness and care of our Bill.
The visitation will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Scotland Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Junction City, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 11 am with Bruce Rux officiating. Interment will follow at Scotland Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
