Born August 18, 1927 in Magnolia, AR he was the son of W.C. and Agnes Kelly Blewster. Carroll graduated from Magnolia High School in 1945 and immediately joined the U. S. Navy, serving in the South Pacific during World War II.
Upon returning to civilian life, he attended Magnolia A & M College for two years and finished his education in 1950 at the University of Arkansas with a degree in Electrical Engineering. During his last year of college he married the love of his life, Veta Gwyn Graham.
His first job was as a radio engineer at KVMA in Magnolia. He later taught electronics at Oklahoma A & M College, then moved to Ponca City, OK to build radio station WBBZ. He then was employed by Arkansas Power & Light in Pine Bluff as an electronic engineer in the relay and communications department. His next move was to El Dorado to build television station KRBB.
Carroll later owned and operated a group of electronic distributing businesses in El Dorado, Magnolia, Shreveport and Alexandria, LA along with owning several music stores in Arkansas and Louisiana.
He retired from the electronics business in 1985 and he and Veta formed Blewster's Antiques, operating it several years. He had also earned a commercial pilot rating and spent seven years of spare time constructing an airplane.
Music was a favorite pastime of the Blewster family. Carroll was a charter member of the South Arkansas Symphony, playing in the bass section along with his son, Carroll, Jr. and daughter, Gwyn, who played in the cello section. Veta accompanied them often on the piano, completing their love of music as a family affair.
Preceding him in death along with his parents were his wife, Veta Blewster, and a brother, Lt. Col. Jim Blewster.
Survivors include a daughter, Gwyn Stuart of El Dorado and a son, Carroll Blewster, Jr. (Elise) of Baton Rouge, LA and a sister, Rebecca Free (Tommy) of Fayetteville, AR. There are 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren surviving.
