Albert “Beto” Thomas Medina August 7, 1956 - July 8, 2019 It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Beloved Albert Medina (Beto), age 62. He went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 8, 2019. Beto was born in Anthony, Texas to Carlos H. And Guadalupe R. Medina. He was a member of our Lady of Refuge Church in La Union, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his father Carlos H. Medina. Those left to mourn his passing are his two beloved and beautiful daughters, Laramie and Landri, who meant the world to him. Also with great sadness mourn his mother, Lupe Medina, and his siblings Bibiana, Marina, and Eric Medina along with wife, Leticia Medina, and aunt and uncle Bud and Hortencia Sorge. In addition, ex-wife Rose Alvarez and her mother Aurora Alvarez stand alongside the Medina family during this difficult time. Albert worked at Tre-Pol Inc. in Borderland, was a manager at C.R. Anthony and a welder for Jack & Dan Darbyshire. Regardless of such, Beto was a creative craftsman at heart. He had a love for the outdoors with a deep passion for fishing, camping, hunting, horseback riding and was a Dallas Cowboy’s fan. In addition, Albert thrived in tending to the family pecan trees. In the later part of his life, Albert enjoyed spending many hours sitting in the warm sun and listening to his favorite country music. Ultimately, what truly brought warmth to Albert’s heart were his daughters. He often reminisced about their time together as his memories of them always made him smile. Visitation and service will be held July 14, 2019, at 5 PM to 8 PM with the Rosary to begin at 6 PM at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church located in La Union at 1320 Mercantil Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 15, 2019, at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Refuge Church with the Committal Service to follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, 4900 McNutt Rd., Santa Teresa, New Mexico. It is with the deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers that I forward this message to the Medina Family. I didn't find out about my Primo till sometime yesterday afternoon. I spend very little time in La U (as la plebe called it) so I wasn't aware of the news Albert was called up to heaven. It wasn't a good feeling hearing about his passing. I immediately sent out my prayers and remembered something that really struck me in an odd but good way..........I had a premonition over the weekend with Albert being in it............I saw him wearing a ball cap slightly turned to one side, with one leg on some kind of stump, and him resting on it with his elbow on his knee and his hand on his chin. He seemed happy with a big smile on his face. This would be good news I hope, that he is resting with the throne of the Lord by his side.....I wish I could have been there, my deepest regrets, but I am positive my sincere prayers reached him with no problem whatsoever. God Bless the Medina Family. If there is anything I can do to help in any way, please let me know. God Speed...........El Shaft (as Albert used to call me :)
