Alfonso Nevarez, Sr., 89, passed away on March 10, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years, Lydia Nevarez, whom he met in elementary school, which made their time together even more meaningful. A businessman born in Mexico, immigrated at a young age to Los Angeles, California. After 20 years, he moved his family to El Paso and made a career running his own export/import business of wood moulding. He was smart, savvy and ran his business with passion, as he was proud of his accomplishments. A caring father survived by his daughters, Rosy Nevarez, Mary Velarde (Angel), Olivia Martinez (Gene), and his son Alfonso Nevarez, Jr. His grandchildren and great grandchildren will also always remember his joking ways and sense of humor, but most of all the love he had for all his family. Also survived by six siblings, nieces and nephews. Missing you already!
The family has requested private services in an effort to keep everyone safe due to the pandemic. Donations to the American Heart Association are encouraged in lieu of flowers.
