

Alfredo S. Baeza of Presidio, TX, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Ambrosio Guillen State Veterans' Home in Northeast El Paso, TX. He was 98 years old. He was born on August 5, 1927, in Presidio, TX to Jesus and Gregoria Baeza. He was preceded in death by his wife Consuelo Baeza, and his parents, Jesus Baeza and Gregoria Baeza and all of his 10 siblings, Jesus (died in childhood), Anastacio,(Jesus’ twin) (Maria), Lucia (Andres), Alberto (Tela), Dolores (Faye), Cruz (Acela), Eliza (Ismael), Armando (Pat), Cuca (Richard), and Fernando (Pat) and Lucila (Joaquin) a niece raised as a sibling. He is survived by his children, Gloria Baeza and Joe Baeza of El Paso, TX and Jorge Baeza of Clearwater, FL, a granddaughter Judith Turner of Kentucky, and a great grandson, as well as many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Alfredo enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII and served on a seaplane tender ship in the Pacific and was honorably discharged in 1949. He reenlisted in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict and served in Korea and Camp Carson, CO from 1949 until 1952.
Alfredo returned to Presidio, TX and worked as a butcher for several grocery stores in the area. He was active with the American Legion post in Presidio serving for more than 50 years. In 2021, he moved to the Ambrosio Guillen Texas Veterans' home when his health began to decline. On August 5 of this year Alfredo celebrated his 98th birthday. He was an active member of the Santa Teresa De Jesus Catholic Church in Presidio. .
Funeral arrangements have been made with the Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza, El Paso, TX 79936. He will be buried at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906 on October 3, 2025 at 10 a.m.
