Our beloved mother and Grandmother Alicia Soto Cano, 86, went to be with our Lord on May 14, 2010. A lifelong resident of El Paso, her greatest joy was her family and dancing with her husband, Manuel Cano Sr. who preceded her death in 1989. Alicia was known for her hospitality and festive family cook outs. Her beauty and vitality will always be remembered by her loving family. She is survived by her son, Manuel Cano Jr., wife Barbara; daughters Irene Nunez, husband Richard; Yvonne Velarde, husband Marcos; sister Sylvia Duran; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. We wish to thank the staff of Mountain View Health Care Center for the love and care they gave our mother during her stay. Visitation on Monday, May 17, 5 PM-9 PM, Rosary 7 PM at Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter. Funeral Mass at St. Pius Catholic Church on Tuesday 11:30 AM with burial services to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
