Ana A. Montes, 92 of El Paso, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2025. She was born in El Paso, Texas on November 16, 1932. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Mario Montes. Also preceded in death by her parents Buenaventura and Maria Alvarez, brothers Arturo, Luis Alfonso and Tony Alvarez, sister Lucinda Blanco. She is survived by her children Mario A. Montes (Emily), Mary Anne Montes, Carol Carrizal, husband Manny Carrizal and Michael A. Montes. Her grandchildren are Nicole Montes (Nate), Justin Montes, Derek Montes, Abigail Carrizal, Jonathan Carrizal, Diego Montes, Dante Montes, great grandchildren Franklyn Montes Buckley, Arlo Montes Buckley, Eloise Montes Buckley. Also survived by her sister-in-law Vicki Alvarez and brother-in-law Robert Montes (Elizabeth Montes) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Loretto Academy and earned a Masters degree from Texas Western College in 1956. She was an elementary school educator for many years and also had a passion for opera, travel and bowling. She enjoyed her computer games and word puzzles. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. Ana was a devoted Catholic throughout her life. Her patience, kindness and graciousness will be greatly missed and remembered by all.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 17 from 5-8pm with rosary at 6:30pm. at Martin Funeral Home West,128 Resler Dr. Funeral mass held Friday, July 18 at 9:30am, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvedere St., burial to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 11:00am.
