
A man of strength, dedication, and a great sense of humor. Andres spent his life in service to others.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring with Honors. He then transition to a second career serving his local community working for the city of El Paso for another 20 years before his second retirement.
When he wasn't working, Andy could often be found at the bowling alley. He was a member of several local bowling leagues for many years, But his ultimate happy place was the casino. He loved the bright lights, the thrill of the gamble, and most of all the sweet satisfaction of a big win.
He survived by his children Alicia Herrera (Fernie), Adela Ortega (Ray), Andres Ortega Jr. (Christine), Hector Ortega (Kathrine), Yvonne Bonilla (David), Gilbert Baca (Veronica), and Paul Baca (Laura), 22 Grandchildren, 22 Great grandchildren, 21 Great great grandchildren, and 11 Great great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Clara Ortega, Parents Francisco and Maria Ortega, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and loving daughter Veronica Ortega.
Services will be held Monday July 20, 2026
at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina, viewing 4-8 with Rosary at 6pm
Tuesday July 21,2026
Mass at St, Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd. at 9:30 am. Following a service of military honors will be held at 11 am at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana Ave.
