Angel Peña & Rosa A. Gandara

Angel Peña Gandara “Pops”, 93, went to be with Our Lord on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Pops was a proud World War II Navy Veteran, who served in the Pacific aboard the U.S.S Sargent Bay CVE83. He was a member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion Post 36. Pops is preceded in death by his wife: Rosa Alvarez Gandara; granddaughter: Adana Marie Gandara; brothers: Francisco, Feliciano, Feliz & Manuel Peña Gandara; and sisters: Alvina Payne & Esperanza Armijo. Pops is survived by his sons: Angel Gandara Jr. (Yolanda) & Heriberto Gandara (Graciela); daughters: Anna Maria Gandara, Geraldine Gandara-Robtoy & Emilia Valles (Alejandro); brother: Alejandro Peña Gandara; sister: Consuelo Theriaulat; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Vigil/Rosary at 12:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home- East.
