

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ann Walthall Dick Lovelady on November 27, 2025. She was 91. Ann was born in El Paso, Texas and lived her whole life in the city she loved. She will be remembered for her compassion, witty humor, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Ann attended Putnam Elementary, the Radford School, El Paso High School, and Mary Baldwin University. She married her high school sweetheart, Rayburn Lee Lovelady, with whom she shared more than 72 years of marriage, while raising four children. An enduring testament to the vow “till death do us part”.
A true people person, Ann found great joy in community and connection, participating in a variety of clubs and gatherings. These included Las Comadres, Pan American Round Table, the Junior League, various tennis groups, and the Cloudcroft Cottagers Association. She volunteered on both the Mesita Elementary and El Paso High School PTA organizations. She cherished gatherings with her many friends, especially with her beloved “lunch bunch ladies”.
Ann treasured her time in Cloudcroft with family and many El Paso friends. She enjoyed reading, playing cribbage, socializing and simply being surrounded by family and friends. Everyone who met Ann loved her as she had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcomed and loved.
She was preceded in death by her mother Edith Ann Walthall Dick, her father James Alexander Dick II, her stepmother Orell Gambrell Dick, brother James Alexander Dick III, and her stepbrother Earl Halbert Maxon.
Ann is survived by her husband Rayburn Lee Lovelady and her four children Bill (Diana), Stuart, Frances, and Steve (Kelly). Nine grandchildren Jenna (Matt), Avery (Kevin), Drake, Katie, LeeAnn, Tyler (Erica), Troy (Nicole), Winston (Alex), and Anna; and two stepbrothers Jim Maxon and Jack (Carol) Maxon. Plus, ten great-grandchildren Luke, Olivia, Ruby, Hallie, Haze, Declan, Wyatt, Weston, Lucy and Georgia.
Ann’s warmth and humor touched all who knew her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held January 24, 2026 at 10:00 in the Chapel at The First Presbyterian Church, 1340 Murchison Dr., El Paso, TX 79902.
