

Anne Alma Blanco, born on January 22, 1952, passed away on June 23, 2017 after her 5 year-long battle with Cancer. Anne was an artist and an avid lover of animals, art, music, movies and theatre. She attended Loretto Academy for 12 years, and eventually moved on to S.M.U where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and then received her Master’s degree from Sul Ross State in Education. Anne went on to become a teacher at various campuses such as El Paso Community College, N.M. State, Radford, Loretto Academy, Horizon Heights, Ensor Middle School, and Coronado High School where she eventually retired from.
As well as her scholastic career, Anne had her performing arts career teaching dance at her various studios with her recitals being showcased at Chamizal, estimating at about a total of 25 shows.
Anne is preceded in death by her father Alfonso Blanco. She is survived by her mother Alma Blanco, her brothers Edward and Mike (Peggy Hunter) Blanco, her sister Bonnie (Mark) Haarmann, and her nephews Alex, Harrison, and Jack Haarmann.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Martin Funeral Home West from 5 – 9 pm with a rosary at 7 pm. A Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. Patrick Cathedral at 10 am with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery on Alameda.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the Doctors, Nurses of Providence and Texas Tech Medical as well as her friends who assisted her through the five years.
