Arcenia Muñoz

Arcenia Muñoz, 85, passed peacefully at her home in El Paso, Texas, with her family by her side during the three silent hours on Good Friday, March 29, 2024. She leaves behind her brothers, Manuel and Joe. She is survived by her three children: Jessie, Alfonso, and Robert, and their spouses, Enrique, Rose, and Missy. Arcenia will be eternally remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Enrique Jr., Jeanné, Thalia, Tammy, Michelle, Max, Sadie, Jimmy, Joseph, Bryson and Mary Elizabeth.

Arcenia was born in Juarez, Mexico, in 1938 to Rosaura and Jesus Ruacho as the eldest of seven. Responsibility fell hard on Arcenia’s shoulders and she stayed home to help raise her siblings. Because of this sacrifice, she only attended school until fifth grade. She continued caring for others throughout her life, willingly tending the sick, elderly, and her own grandchildren.

We take comfort in knowing that in her last month, Arcenia received the fullness of the sacraments the Church has to offer. We are blessed by the days we prayed by her bedside and shared memories, tears, and laughter. We are grateful for each other, knowing that when we look in one another’s eyes, we will continue to see the light of Arcenia’s legacy.

Thank you for your many prayers and messages of comfort. Please continue to pray for the repose of Arcenia’s soul.

Eternal rest grant unto her O, Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

A visitation for Arcenia will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM along with a rosary at 7:00 P.M at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2709 Alabama Street, El Paso, TX 79930.
