Armando De Leon Castañeda, known to many simply as Armando, passed away on July 18, 2024, in El Paso at the age of 70. Born in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, August 11, 1953 his journey began with promise and hope, bringing joy and love to all who were fortunate enough to know and work with him.
Armando's father, Armando De Leon, his sister Adela Torres and Soledad Torres and his brother Felipe De Leon preceded him in death, but he is survived by his beloved sons, Armando De Leon Jr. (partner, Lorena Martinez) and Edgar De Leon (spouse, Karla) and daughter Monica De Leon Pyle (spouse, Richard), his mother Maria De Leon Castañeda, his sisters Magdalena Estrada, Laura Najera, Lupe Cabral, Irene Melendez, and Ofelia Castillo, as well as his brothers Salvador De Leon, and Javier De Leon.
Armando's legacy is one of dedication and love for his family, shown through his selfless devotion as a father and his warmth and generosity as a grandfather to many grandchildren.
A successful business owner well known to El Paso, Armando's entrepreneurial spirit and hard work were evident in all aspects of his life. He contributed to his community through his work as president of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he showed leadership, kindness, and support to people who were all but strangers to him. His kind nature, generosity, strength, and humor touched the lives of many in his presence, and indeed, he enriched the lives of all who came to know him.
On July 25th, 2024, a service to honor and celebrate Armando's life will be held at Blessed Sacrament Parish at 9025 Diana Dr. in El Paso, TX. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM, and this will be a time for family and friends to come together, share memories, and find solace in each other's company. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM.
