It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Arthur "Pete" Morris, who passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Pete proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Radio Operator aboard the USS Lexington ("The Blue Ghost") from 1956 to 1959.
Following his military service, Pete dedicated 35 years as a civil service engineer with the Army Material Test Directorate. He earned the deep respect of his colleagues through his unwavering dedication, integrity, and commitment to excellence, taking great pride in the lasting contributions he made throughout his career.
Outside of his profession, Pete embraced life with boundless enthusiasm. He was an avid golfer and bowler who cherished both the friendly competition and the lifelong friendships those sports brought him. He also held a passion for British sports cars, especially his cherished Triumph TR3. As a proud member of the British Car Club, he loved participating in classic automobile club events, car shows, and scenic drives. Pete also loved the outdoors, whether he was hiking, fishing, or hunting for arrowheads.
Above all, Pete was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, as well as a cherished family member and friend. He will always be remembered for his wisdom, quiet strength, warm sense of humor, and generous heart.
Pete’s spirit will live on in the stories we share, the values he instilled, and the inspiring example of a life fully lived. He will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing his memory will always be a blessing to his family, his friends, and all who knew him.
