Barbara Elaine Spoon

Barbara Elaine Spoon, of El Paso, Texas, born January 22, 1967, to the late Annette Spoon, and the late Jack Spoon, passed away peacefully at the age of 57 on October 28, 2024, in El Paso. She was preceded in death by her sister Belinda Gaymon, and nephew Jared Gaymon. She is survived by her brother Scott Spoon, sisters Cathleen Fairley, and Colleen Galle, brother-in-law Thaddeus Galle and nephew Thaddeus D. Galle. Barbara, affectionately called Bear, was a miracle. Due to complications at birth, she was mentally handicapped, the doctors saying she would never talk or walk. She not only talked and walked, but swam, rode her tricycle, went hiking, won medals in the Special Olympics, and participated in all aspects our family’s life. She was loved by everyone who matters and will be missed more than words can say. Friends and family may attend the memorial service at the Scott Spoon residence at 7070 West McNutt Road, in Anthony, NM, on November 22, at 6pm. A private memorial will be for immediate family only earlier in the day. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bear’s name, to the Special Olympics.

A memorial service for Barbara will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 at 6:00 PM, 7070 McNutt Rd, Anthony, NM 88021.

Barbara will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88063.
