BENJAMIN SALCIDO
Benjamin (Benny) Salcido, entered into eternal life on January 6, 2021 at the age of 68. Benny was born in El Paso, Texas on March 22, 1952 to Jose Angel and Sarah Armendariz Salcido. He was a life-long resident of El Paso, and a proud graduate of El Paso High School, class of 1970 and also attended UTEP. He served his country in both the US Marine Corps and US Army.
Benny was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe and Pablo Salcido, sisters Rosa Maria Salcido and Sarah Jordan.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Grace Elena Solis, son-in-law Oscar Solis, grandchildren Caleb and Emma Solis, siblings Ruben (Rachel), Carmen S. Pierce, Juan (Elvia), Noemi S. Garber, Becky S. Reyna, Anna S. Salom (Jesse) and Raul (Ana), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Benny was a humble and loving brother, uncle, father and friend. A mega fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the UTEP Miners, sports were always near and dear to his heart. A gifted musician, you could always find Benny singing, improvising along, or conducting an invisible orchestra any time there was music playing; to him, music was life. All our lives will be a little less musical without him. We love you, Benny!
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00am and laid to rest at Ft. Bliss Cemetery at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church P. O. Box 3185 El Paso, Texas 79923

My Sincere Condolences to Benny Salcido's Family,
I'm a fellow EPHS '70 classmate, Track Captain Teammate, and friend. Looking back to the high school days with Benny, track days come to mind. He ran the 440, 880, and anchored the mile relay. The serious look he had in the classroom was the same on the track field. He was a joyful person to be with. He was involved in ROTC ( wore the uniform proudly), EPHS Band, and Track.
His presence will be forever in your family hearts. You will be sharing his spirit with others. Keep his spirit alive among you & enjoy the smiles, the laughter, & the tears.
I, as his friend, I will.
Regards,
Raul Gonzalez

So sorry for your loss. Benny was so great and full of life. He reminds me of the times that are implanted in my heart. Memories of young bones - no creaks, high voices - no squeaks, loud laughter - no snorts, and enjoyment of our loved ones - no regrets - never regrets. Your loss is great but Benny's life would have been so sad without you. May God Give you strength and His Love help you through this time. Luci

I will miss Benny , my friend. I enjoyed seeing his smile every time I saw him. Even the last time we spoke on the phone he was attempting to be cheerful. Once he didn’t answer I knew he was too sick. He’s now resting from the dreadful cough he suffered. In my mind I picture him standing before the Lord and singing praises to Him as he directs his own orchestra. My condolences to the family. He was very aware of the wonderful care you gave him-loved his home.

Salcido Familia,
Debbie and I are saddened to hear the news of Benny's passing, and we will have all of you in our thoughts and prayers during this time of grief and sadness.
I will always remember the first time I met the smiling Benny at the late and best friend Pablo Salcido's parents home many, many years ago. I could hear him singing in the back of the house.
Through Pablo and Cheryl, I met most of the Salcido familia, and what a joy it has been for us. A TRUE LOVING FAMILY! May that love and kinship sustain you and continue to bless you always.
