Bernabe "Bernie" Alfredo Rubio Jr. passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the age of 70. He was a respected member of the El Paso, Texas community. Bernie was also a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church.
Bernie was an extraordinary husband to his beloved wife, Rosie, an exceptional father to Fred (JoAnn) and Christy (Joe) and a remarkable grandfather to four beautiful grandchildren, Sara Elva Trevizo, Alissa Rubio, Gabriel Trevizo, and Samantha Trevizo. A proud carpenter—just like his Lord—Bernie built not only with his hands but also with his heart. His world was filled with love, laughter, and the faithful companionship of his two cherished pups, Sully and Gus Gus.
Bernie can be described in one word: extraordinary. His kindness, humility, and unwavering faith touched every life he encountered. Though he has left this earthly home, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
He has now gone to be with his Savior, where peace knows no end and love never fades.
A visitation for Bernie will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7p.m. at Crestview Funeral Home, located at 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas, 79936. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd, El Paso, Texas, 79925. Rite of Committal will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas, 79938.
