Bertha Arias, born April 22, 1928, passed away on May 26, 2022, at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Arias, her beloved mother, Otilia Montes, and her brothers and sister Rogelio Becerra, Manuel Becerra, Carlos Becerra, and Armando Montes. She is survived by her daughter, Bertha Mieckowski (Michael+); and sons Vicente Enrique (Terri); and Luis Armando Arias (Gloria). Nine
grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive her. She was a homemaker who enjoyed life to the fullest and traveling. She was “much more than a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother, . . . (she) was an incomparable, relentless woman who devoted a large part of her life to building a better future for her family.” Nana taught us the brilliance of her decorative artistry through crafts and creativity. She taught us humility in caring for animals like the turtles that roamed her backyard. Nana taught us the proper way to hold a flower and water it so the petals may grow and feel loved. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Arias, David Arias, Michael Arias, Luis-Carlos Arias, Alyssa Arias, Luis Arias,
and Enrique Arias. A visitation for Bertha Arias will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with prayer service at 9:30 am at Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter Drive, El Paso, TX 79936.
