

Bertha Rivas passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 18, at the age of 95.
Born in Fort Hancock, Texas, she made her home in El Paso, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and love. She was married to her beloved husband, Fidencio Rivas, for 47 years until his passing in 2002. Together they created a home filled with warmth and devotion. Bertha worked for many years in the cafeterias of Ysleta ISD, where she was loved by many. But her greatest joy was her family. She was the heart of every gathering, known for her legendary cooking, her welcoming home, and the stories and laughter she shared around the table.
She is survived by her children: Jose G. Rivas and his wife Maria; Martha L. Duran and her husband Gabriel; and Emma T. Nava and her husband Joe, along with her seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation will be at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr, 79915 on 2/27, at 5:00 pm and Rosary Service at 7:00 pm.
The Funeral Mass will be at Santo Nino De Atocha Church, 210 S Clark Dr, 79905, on Saturday, 2/28, at 10:00 am.
Following the mass, a Graveside Service will be at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, 79907, at 11:30 am.
A reception to celebrate her lite will be held on Saturday, 2/28 at 1:00pm at Mago Hall, 2001 Magoffin Ave, 79901
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
