Bertha C. Rodriguez died peacefully on September 2, 2025, at the golden age of 100 years. She was born in El Paso, TX on April 15, 1925, to Jose and Elisa Cordova. She was a proud graduate and alumni of Bowie High School. She graduated from International Business College and was top of her class. Bertha had a strong work ethic and was a dedicated bookkeeper at DeWitt and Rearick until her retirement. She was a devoted Catholic and her faith for God was also instilled to her children and grandchildren. She loved music and dancing and never turned down an invitation to be with family and friends. She was a passionate baseball fan supporting her husband’s love for baseball. They were proud members of the El Paso Sports Club baseball team. Everyone knew her as “grandma” and her home and kitchen were always open to serve a meal to anyone who stopped by and she did it with endless love. She touched many lives with her generosity and her heart to help others succeed. She leaves behind her legacy as a loving wife, nurturing mother, amazing grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Guillermo Rodriguez Sr., her son Guillermo Rodriguez Jr., her brothers Gilberto Cordova, Ricardo Cordova, and Rogelio Cordova, Chalia Cordova, and Ruben Garcia. She is survived by her sisters Emma Gomez, and Graciela Urbina, her daughter Raquel West, her sons Rich Rodriguez (Kathy), Rafael Rodriguez (Terry), Roger Rodriguez (Brenda), and Rene Rodriguez (Rebecca). Her grandchildren Annamarie Egge, Ernie Rodriguez, Billy Rodriguez, Tina Marsh (Simon), Bryan Rodriguez (Laura), Christy Duenas (Sergio), Mark West (Letty), Cory Samuel (Kim), Adrian Rodriguez (Lorrie), Evelyn Garcia (+Ruben), Leighanne Rodriguez (David), and Jacqueline Torrez (Joshua) several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A visitation for Mrs. Rodriguez will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn Funeral Home, 8817 Dyer, El Paso, TX 79904. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd, El Paso, Texas 79925. Graveside Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
