

Bruce was born in Oak Park, IL to David A. Wingren and Ruby Bannister Wingren. He was their third son and younger brother to David A. and Thomas A. Wingren.
He grew up in Tucson, AZ, where he developed a love for the desert and Wild West culture. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America in 1966. He graduated from Rincon High School in 1968 and went on to attend the University of Arizona where he graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Bruce joined American Airlines in 1972. Hardworking and dedicated, he spent 38 years in loyal service to American Airlines, where he met his wife Gabrielle. He began his career as a Fleet Service Clerk in Chicago and ended as Station Manager in El Paso, TX in 2010 when he retired.
He was a man of integrity who loved his family and friends. His laugh was infectious and his sense of humor brightened every gathering. He enjoyed traveling with and visiting friends, as well as riding his beloved Harley motorcycle on the scenic desert back roads of El Paso and New Mexico. He treasured quiet family movie nights, where he passed on a love for music, film, and story telling to his daughters. Particular favorites were John Wayne and other Westerns.
Bruce is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Gabrielle, and their cherished daughters, Stephanie Kloepfer (Jacob), and Andrea Drury (Christopher). He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Liam and Keira Kloepfer, and David, James, Michaela, and baby Drury (due in June). He is also survived by his niece, Tamara Elliott and her children, Courtney Elliott and Clinton Elliott (Caroline), their respective children, as well as extended family and lifelong friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, and his grandson, Beckett Drury.
Bruce will be buried in Tucson, AZ at East Lawn Palms Cemetery on April 24, 2026 at noon. A private Celebration of Life will be held.
