With deepest sorrow we announce our beloved daughter Candace Kay Priegel, and our cherished granddaughter, Casey Kay Woodberry departed this life together August 17, 2024. Candace was born May 2, 1988 to Rita and Roger Priegel (Samplawski) at Sierra Medical Center of El Paso. She attended Eastwood High school and graduated with honors and earned her masters degree in Occupational Therapy (MS OT) from UTEP, also with honors. Candace obtained an IFRAH certification for specialized care of stroke victims.
Candace was former Vice President and one of the founders of El Paso Biker Chicks. She made a huge impact in the surrounding areas and helped so many people and organizations
Candace was employed by Del Sol Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit for 6 years. She traveled with her devoted partner, Jonathan, for several years, eventually returning home to settle in El Paso. She was united in marriage to Jonathan on May 3, 2024.
Candace is survived by her loving husband Jonathan Woodberry; her beloved family, mother Rita Priegel, father Roger Priegel and wife Lupita, brother Randy Priegel and fiancée Hannah Cook, nieces MacKenzie and Hendrix; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Jack Woodberry, her grandfather George Samplowski and grandmother Marian Samplowksi, and uncle Rodney Samplawski.
Casey Kay Woodberry was born to her adoring parents May 27, 2024 at Providence Children’s Hospital. She survived by her loving father, Jonathan Woodberry, grandparents Rita Priegel,Roger Priegel and wife Lupita, brother Randy Priegel, fiancée Hannah Cook, cousins Mackenzie and Hendrix, grandmother Donna Woodberry, aunt Jesi Woodberry and uncle Cody Duran. Casey is preceded in death by her grandfather, Jack Woodberry.
A visitation for Candace Kay Priegel and Casey Kay Woodberry will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with Funeral service at 7:00 PM, at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer, El Paso, Texas 79904. Graveside service will be Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 8700 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas 79904.
