Carl (Kirk) Kirkpatrick passed peacefully on April 8, 2013. Kirk was an exceptional husband, devoted father, and loving grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born on September 13, 1939 in El Campo, Texas and raised in Mission, Texas. After working in the oil fields, he joined the U. S. Army and earned three Purple Hearts while serving during the Vietnam War. He retired as a 1st Sergeant from the U. S. Army and went on to fulfill his dream by opening Kirk’s Gun Shop Inc., an El Paso icon for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife Shannon; his children Tom (Manuella) Kirkpatrick, Cindy (Jeff) Sutton, Debbie Kirkpatrick, Gary Kirkpatrick and Seay (Joseph) Phillips; his grandchildren Danielle (Randy) Baethge and Vance Kirkpatrick; his four great-grandchildren Max, Luke, Samuel, and Libby Baethge; and his sisters Betty (Huey) Ratliff, Mae Reiter, Helen Tanner, and Linda (Bill) Heins.
His unconditional love and compassion will be remembered by all who had the privilege of encompassing their lives with his love during his various walks of life.

Those who wish to honor his memory may join us for visitation on Sunday April 14, 2013 from 5-7pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday April 15, 2013 at Martin Funeral Home-East at 11:30am followed immediately by burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
