Carlos Escobedo, born on March 14, 1964, in El Paso, Texas, passed away on October 8, 2026. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and a legacy of hard work, sacrifice, faith, and determination that will continue to live on through generations.
Carlos was a proud native of El Paso. He attended and graduated from Austin High School before continuing his training through Job Corps, where he earned certifications that helped prepare him for his professional career. He went on to work for Sun Metro as a Coach Operator, dedicating 18 years of service to his community before retiring. Through his years of service, he became part of the daily lives of the people of the city he called home.
A Man of Many Dreams and Talents
Carlos was a man of many ideas and dreams. He had a mind that was always thinking, creating, and finding new things to accomplish. Perhaps it was because he missed Heaven and the things he once knew how to do there that he tried to bring those abilities and dreams to life here on Earth.
He was a true handyman, a man who believed that if something was broken, he could find a way to fix it. From televisions, VCRs, and DVD players to household appliances, outdoor machinery, and vehicles, Carlos was always willing to put his hands to work. He also took on landscaping, construction, and even a little roofing. There was always something to repair, something to build, or another idea he wanted to bring to life.
His determination was something special. Even when he was tired, he rarely showed it. He kept pushing forward, putting in the work and doing what he could to get things done. He was a man who gave so much of himself, often putting the needs of others before his own. His sacrifices continued throughout his life, right up until his passing.
A Warrior of God
One of the sayings Carlos would share was:
“God doesn’t give the hardest battles to just anyone, but only to His strongest warriors.”
Those words will forever carry a special meaning for his family. They reflect a spirit of perseverance, strength, and faith—a reminder to keep going through life’s most difficult moments. His words will continue to guide and encourage those who carry his memory in their hearts.
Carlos’s legacy is not measured only by the years he worked, the things he repaired, or the dreams he pursued. It is also measured by the sacrifices he made, the love he gave, the happiness he shared, and the impact he had on the lives around him.
His Family and Legacy
Carlos shared his life with his spouse, Rosa Madera, and was the proud father of three children: his daughter, Angelica Escobedo, and his sons, Carlos Escobedo and Mario Escobedo.
He was also a grandfather to Xavi Antunez, Edwin Antunez, EvaRosa Antunez, Geovanni Antunez, Ezra Antunez, and Dominic Escobedo, who carry forward his family’s legacy into the next generation.
Carlos was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Esperanza Escobedo Castillo; his father, Guadalupe Escobedo; and his sister, Gloria Escobedo Urrutia.
He is survived by his spouse, Rosa Madera; his daughter, Angelica Escobedo; his sons, Carlos Escobedo and Mario Escobedo; his grandchildren, Xavi Antunez, Edwin Antunez, EvaRosa Antunez, Geovanni Antunez, Ezra Antunez, and Dominic Escobedo; his sisters, Guadalupe Escobedo Valdiviezo and Ramona Escobedo Parsons; and his brothers, Luis Manuel Escobedo, Armando Escobedo, Oscar Escobedo, Jesus Escobedo, and Oswaldo Escobedo.
Forever Living Through Us
Dad, we will always remember you for everything you did and everything you sacrificed for us. Even when you were tired, you kept going. Even when things were difficult, you continued to find a way. You taught us, through your actions, what it meant to work hard, persevere, and never give up on the things that mattered.
Your heart, your happiness, your love, your sacrifice, your devotion, and your hard work will never be forgotten. You impacted our lives in more ways than words could ever fully explain, and the things you taught us will continue to live within us.
Your story does not end here. You will continue to live through your children, your grandchildren, your family, the lessons you taught, the things you built and repaired, the dreams you pursued, and the love you left behind. Even those who never had the chance to meet you may one day come to know you through the stories we share and the legacy you leave for future generations.
Though our hearts ache in your absence, we take comfort in knowing that the love you gave us remains. We will carry your strength into our own battles, remembering the words you spoke and the life you lived.
Until we meet again, Dad, may you rest peacefully in the presence of God Elohim rejoicing in the glorious Kingdom of Heaven. Your battles on Earth are over, but your legacy will never end.
“God doesn’t give the hardest battles to just anyone, but only to His strongest warriors.”
Forever our loving father. Forever our strong warrior. Forever deep in our hearts.
