Carol Frances O'Dell

November 6, 1943 – December 6, 2021

On December 6, 2021 our beautiful mother, grandmother, and devoted servant of the Lord, went home to be with her lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where this beautiful Angel has received her wings.

Carol Was born on November 6 1943 in Little Rock AR the middle child of a family of eight brothers and sisters. Ms. O’Dell became an ordained minister and spent much of her life studying The Holy Bible and preaching the word of GOD. Carol also served as a youth pastor in Dallas TX. before returning to Las

Cruces where she remained still spreading the word of God.

In 1997 Carol began volunteering at the Dona Ana County Humane Society, where she was dedicated to making every single animal comfortable with plenty of Love, food, water and a warm cozy bed to sleep in. her dedication was so selfless to the cats and dogs at the animal shelter. Carol would often work off the clock to make sure all animals had everything they needed. She wanted the animals feel as comfortable as possible. This dedication led to a full time position as animal care specialist at the DACHS.

In 2013 Carol retired after 16 years of dedication service. She had the sweetest personality and everyone loved her compassionate helpful demeanor which garnered her numerous friendships throughout her life. Carol love Jesus and talked about the Bible constantly.. Carol will most definitely be truly missed.

Carol will always be remembered for her everlasting faith in God. Carol's preparation for her journey to heaven, began at an early age, Jesus has been the foundation of her life of service to our lord Jesus Christ.

Miss Odell was proceeded in passing by her Sister Nancy Gomez, her niece Debbie Gomez, eldest son, Joey Gaytan, Sherman Gaytan.

She is survived by daughters, Tina Derby, al Crystal Dominguez and husband Robert, Beth Gamboa and husband Patrick, Grace Hernandez and husband John, Shannon Gift grandchildren Monique Paez and husband Noel Paez, Joseph Gaytan, Marie Sarabia and husband Ramon Sarabia, Michelle Derby, junior Derby Michael Derby, Malachi Derby, Angelina Derby, Engolic Gaytan and partner Ishmael Espinal, Emilio Gaytan, Nasario Flores III and wife Olivia, Angelo Polanco, Sarah Polanco, Melina Gamboa, Gabriel Gamboa, Juliana Gamboa, Mia Gamboa, Rileigh Hernandez, Alexis Gift, jade Gift, Christian Gift, great grand children Israel, Destiny, Arianna, Armando, Jazlyn, Faith, Esperanza, Mariah, Janelle, Hassan, Bella, Sofia, Jordan, Tatiana, Neyeli, Zayla, and numerous family members.
