Carolyn Ann Stewart, 83 years of age, peacefully passed away March 3, 2011. She was source of strength and kindness to family and friends, respectful to all who knew her. She was a great lady. Born September 27, 1927 in Madison, South Dakota, she was youngest of three daughters of Harold and Marie Mitchell. The family moved to Ames, Iowa where she graduated from Iowa State University and married John Guggedahl. Together they had four children and eventually moved to El Paso in 1964. At John's death she was teaching and coaching at Zach White School, encouraging so many. In 1974 she married Grover Stewart, fully supporting his efforts building successful businesses in Texas and Mexico. They traveled the world. Later, they built the Stewart Family Life Center at Western Hills United Methodist Church where friends and families gather to celebrate, educate and share the joy of the Lord. She continued to be an active member of the Church serving on the Foundation Board. She loved golfing with her friends at El Paso Country Club on Tuesdays. After Grover's passing in 2002, she enjoyed her friends and delighted in her growing family.
