

Our community mourns the loss of Catalina “Katy” Siqueiros who passed August 7, 2023, at the age of 101 at her home with her son by her side.. Katy was born on February 12, 1922, in Lordsburg, N.M., and her family relocated to El Paso when she was three years old.
Between 1944 and 1954, Katy worked at Popular Dry Goods in the fur department and pursued studies at the El Paso Conservatory of Music.
Katy dedicated 32 years of her life to being a real estate agent, assisting a diverse range of clients in finding their ideal homes. She achieved numerous noteworthy accolades as a realtor with Coldwell Banker DeWetter Hovious, Inc.
For 26 seasons, Katy played the violin with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra. Her memories with the EPSO are chronicled in a collection titled “The Katy Siqueiros Collection,” which is housed within the University Library Special Collections Department at UTEP. Within this collection, her personal memories provide a valuable documentation of the EPSO’s history from 1946 to 1972. Katy continued playing in the civic orchestra at EPCC for many years.
Katy is preceded in death by her son Randy (Cid Lasher), her father Domingo Saucedo, mother Guadalupe Soto Saucedo, her brothers Carlos, Eladio, Heriberto H. and Heriberto S. Saucedo, her sisters Evangelina, Consuelo, and Carmela Saucedo.
Katy is survived by son David Siqueiros and granddaughter Rebecca Siqueiros. Daughter Elizabeth C. de Gonzalez and her husband David Gonzales and grandson Donovan Gonzales. Granddaughter Thalia Siqueiros and her husband Jesse Harvel. Granddaughter Athena Cole and her husband Kelly Cole and great grandsons Jonah and Isaac Cole; Brother Armando Saucedo. Numerous nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends, also survive her.
