Cecilia J. Hernandez

Cecilia (Cecy) J. Hernandez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, passed away at the age of 73 on Monday, October 13, 2014. She was born November 10, 1940 to Gabriel and Aurora Juarez in Clint, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Gabriel and Aurora Juarez and siblings Corina Tarango, Maria Elena Muñoz, and Jose Cruz Juarez. She is survived by husband Faustino (Tino) Hernandez and five children: Rick and Laura Hernandez, Aurora Bueno, Manuel (Eddie) and Patricia Hernandez, David and Irma Hernandez, and Esteban and Amanda Hernandez. She had 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is survived by sisters: Rose Marie Holguin, Angie Juarez, Irma Juarez, and Patricia Juarez Melendez; and brothers: Gabriel Juarez and Francisco Juarez. She will be remembered for her devotion to her Lord, unwavering love for her family, as well as her kind words, warm hugs, and beautiful smile. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish since 1970. She was a member and volunteer with Las Alas, working with the poorest of the poor in Juarez, Mexico. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Aloba and the staff at Texas Oncology and La Mariposa Hospice for their tender, loving care in her final days. Pallbearers (grandsons): Joshua Hernandez, Isaac Bueno, Thomas Bueno, Corey Bueno, Immanuel Hernandez, David F. Hernandez. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Our Lady of the Valley Church.
