Charlene Lucille Pentzer Hamilton, 82 years old of El Paso, TX passed to the presence of her Lord and Savior on Feb 25 in her home. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Garland Hamilton Sr., 2 children, Leilonni Hamilton and Garland Hamilton, Jr. and his wife Saby Martell Hamilton. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Laura Hamilton Garcia and her husband Jonathan Garcia, Jessica Hamilton Villalobos and her husband Cody Villalobos, and Garland Edward Hamilton; 4 great grandchildren: Estrella Davalos, Ruby Davalos, Hazel Garcia, and Everlee Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Gwen Pentzer and a sister, Joyce Pentzer McCoy.
Charlene was born on July 28, 1938 in Ottumwa, IA where she graduated from Ottumwa High School and was a member of the Ottumwa Baptist Temple. She was employed as Assistant to the Manager of F. W. Woolworth for 2 years before she enrolled at Baptist Bible College. She was married to Dr. Garland Hamilton on May 25, 1962. She served her Lord as Pastor´s wife and as a missionary wife for 58 years in Venezuela and Mexico. She enjoyed music and played the piano for the churches her husband pastored and taught children in her early years of ministry. Charlene always turned any ministry she had over to someone else as soon as there was a person to take her place. She was a member of Iglesia Bautista Bíblica de El Paso, TX, a Hispanic ministry which meets in the facilities of Sun Valley Baptist Temple.
Charlene had Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s so the Hamilton Family would like to thank Charlene´s caretakers: Mary Siqueiros, and Elara Caring hospice especially Ana Cardoza, R.N. and Aide Veronica Espinoza for their dedication to help us care for our loved one.
