

Charles (Charlie) H. Armijo was born July 4, 1935 and passed away on February 15, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Seiko Armijo; father Charles H. Armijo SR., mother Victoria Robinson, and brother, Anthony J. Robinson.
Charlie graduated from El Paso High School and was a member of the 1952 All District Football Team.
After graduation, Charlie enlisted in and proudly served the United States Navy for over twenty years. He served on numerous ships including USS BADOENG STRAIT, USS PIVOT, USS ENGAGE, and USS PARSONS. During his tour aboard the USS BADOENG STRAIT, Charlie participated in Operation REDWING, a series of seventeen thermonuclear test detonations conducted in 1956 on the Bikini and Enewetak atolls in the Pacific. Charlie spent time training Navy recruits at the Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois and at the Naval Training Center San Diego, California. He also served as a United States Postal Service Letter Carrier for more than ten years.
Charlie is survived by his sister Sylvia Perez and her husband Sammy, Betty Marquez and her husband Armando, Lillian Couder and her husband James. In accordance with his desires, the family will hold a private viewing. His remains will join the remains of his shipmates who have been committed to the oceans depths.
