June 2,1955- April 25, 2023
Charline Rivera, a stunningly beautiful person, both inside and out, was granted her angel wings on April 25th at the age of 67 after battling pancreatic cancer. She was an identical twin and shared an incredibly close bond with her twin sister Christine Cramer, her mother Irma Yowell, and her sisters Bobbie Villareal, and Deanna Rivera.
Born on June 2, Charline was a lifelong resident of El Paso and graduated from Eastwood High School. She went on to pursue her passion for teaching, earning a degree in education from UTEP. She began her career as a beloved elementary teacher in the Socorro Independent School District where she quickly gained a reputation for her exceptional teaching skills and her unwavering dedication to her students.
During her life, Charline was a proponent for peace in the world, supported the LGBTQ community, and was a parishioner at St. Raphael’s and Holy Family Catholic churches. She was a mentor to many of her students throughout their lives and was always willing to lend an ear to anyone who needed it.
Outside of the classroom, Charline loved spending time with her only son Aaron Monty whom she affectionately called “Lovies." They shared a love for music and often attended concerts together. They also enjoyed traveling, experiencing new things, and created many cherished memories together including a recent trip to Paris, France.
Her loss is felt deeply by her family, friends, colleagues, and former students. Charline will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and love of teaching. She was an admired member of the community and leaves behind a legacy of love, acceptance, and a commitment to education. Her passing is a great loss, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Charline's life and Rosary will be held on Saturday May 20, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N Resler Drive, El Paso, TX 79912. Donations can be made to The National Pancreas Foundation or Hospice of El Paso in Charline’s memory.
