We have heavy hearts upon learning of the passing of Scotty. He was a warm, witty, brilliant man & was always a welcome addition to our weekend nights in Clovis. There would be laughter, great conversation, & more laughter. Nate & Mariah, you were blessed with a father who was beloved by so many. Our sincere condolences go out to you all.

It's been a few weeks since Mr. Scott's passing, I remember the first few weeks of high school, I was struggling in Math and decided to go and talk to him. He gave me many suggestions. He always greeted me in the hallways with a smile, wave, and a warm simple hello. I won't forget those moments. Not a day goes by that I don't walk through the hallways without thinking of you... You were a strong man. Prayers to your family and friends. You're in a better place now. Fly high.

Scottie was one of my best friends while I was in Friona, Texas. I was there almost 10 years and we both went through our divorces and leaned on each other and hopefully made life a little easier.  We had some wonderful silly times hanging out...the three of us...my son got dragged along with us most of the time.  Many cook outs...music...swimming and Scottie playing his guitar.  He was such a bright star.  He will be greatly missed!  Nathan and Mariah I am so sorry for your loss.  I can only imagine the huge hole he will leave but know that he is still looking over you both.

Cloudcroft has lost one of its finest teachers this past week and I am deeply saddened in the passing of Clark Scott. I knew Mr. Scott throughout all my high school years at Cloudcroft, taking nearly all my math courses with him. My senior year I had the privilege to take both physics and calculus with Mr. Scott and this was an experience I will never forget. Mr. Scott was one of the most strait forward people I knew and his number one phrase seemed to be "I'm gonna tell it like it is".  He most certainly did. At the beginning of the year Mr. Scott saw something in our calculus class of 7 that we had no idea we had in us. He began pushing our calculus class to become an AP calculus class. Many of us were skeptical and didn't see the need to do this. Through numerous motivational talks and persistence our class gave in. Through the next few months we prepared for the AP test, often times getting confused and frustrated with the material but Mr. Scott was always there to help us get through it. When our class would get burned out he realized it and gave us a break. Instead of playing games on our phones many of us took the opportunity to talk to him. This gave me the chance to really get to know Mr. Scott at a personal level. We often talked about his love for CCR and the guitar and how he grew up in a German household very similar to mine. Most importantly he gave me advice for the future. Telling me what to expect from college, which as a former professor was incredibly helpful. 
             As the morning of the AP test arrived many of us sat nervously in the hallway waiting to enter the testing room. Mr. Scott entered the hallway with his usual jolly walk and smile and began talking to us like it was any other day and naturally calmed us all down. Then the time came and he told us something that to this day I take with me into every test. "Calm, cool, collective and you'll make it every time" and sure enough it wasn't too bad. With that over graduation soon followed and after a great summer college began for me. My first semester of Calculus went by so much smoother with most the material under my belt all thanks to Mr. Scott for really pushing me out of my comfort zone. His encouragement and effort made a difficult first year in college just that much easier. I regret not thanking him before he passed but am happy for all the experiences I was able to share with this incredibly motivating teacher and friend.

When I heard of Clark (Mr. Scott's) passing it saddened me to hear of it happening but all the good memories of him as my teacher. He will be missed and I wanted to let you know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Liz, You are in my prayers.  I am thinking of you and wish I could be there to give you a hug.  I know you are so glad you had your time together in Cloudscroft.

Liz, I'm so sorry to learn of Clark's passing. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Your Texas friends are here for your support.

I have some very fond memories of Scotty. I will always hold them dear. So sorry for your loss.
