

Clodine S. Norris, 100 years of age, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, January 7, 2023 in El Paso, Texas. Mrs. Norris was born in Benavides Texas on October 28, 1922 to Jesus Oliveira Salinas and Elvira Canales Salinas. She graduated from Benavides High School and she attended Texas A & I University in Kingsville Texas, where she earned a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Education.
Mrs. Norris was an educator who valued and loved learning her entire life. She found her fulfillment in teaching children and inspiring them to achieve their goals. Clodine felt that an education was the best legacy that parents could ever provide for their children.
Mrs. Norris taught elementary school students for 44 years. Her last years were devoted to teaching first grade at East point Elementary School. After retiring, she continued to serve her community as a volunteer at Myrtle Cooper Elementary School.
She was a teacher, an artist, a fabulous cook, a gardener and an avid bird watcher. Clodine loved to travel and she loved to share her travel experiences with her students and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Norris, her parents Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Salinas, her three sisters, Barbara, Tina and Vira along with her brothers, Tony and Romeo. Her granddaughter, Tommy Lynn Scrivner, passed away in 2009.
Mrs. Norris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and Tom Scrivner, granddaughters and spouses, Kelly and Herb Nassour and Kristy and Sean Wright. Her great grandchildren, Kylee Wright and Caden Wright, were dearly loved by their Gigi. She had many cousins, nieces and nephews, and she loved all of them.
Services will be held in Benavides, Texas.
