Conchita V. Mendoza

Our beloved mother, Conchita V. Mendoza passed away on November 1, 2020 at the age of 88 years old. She was born on August 27, 1932 in Casa Piedra, Texas to her loving parents, Conrado and Concha Vasquez.

She graduated from Marfa High School and then attended Texas Women’s University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree. On June 16, 1955 she married the love of her life, Ernesto C. Mendoza. They moved to El Paso to start their teaching careers and a family.

She was a devout Catholic and a beautiful, kind and loving person. She would say, “Every day is a blessing.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto C. Mendoza. Survivors include four daughters: Cynthia A. Esquivel of Marfa; Sandra M. Pacheco, Melissa Betancourt and Adrienne M. (Edmund) Hirales, all of El Paso; eight grandchildren: Cristina Moomau, Celina Esquivel, Dominic Betancourt, Lauren Betancourt, Conrad L. Martin, Edmund P. Hirales, Jr., Michelle A. Hirales, and Diego E. Pacheco; six great-grandchildren: Jared J. Smith, Easton Paul Moomau, Juliet Ahumada, Gianna Pacheco, Cameron L. Martin and Caroline L. Martin. She is also survived by her brother, Armando F. Vasquez of Marfa, Texas.

Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 1060 N. Carolina on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 5 – 9 PM with Rosary recited at 7:0 PM. Burial services for Conchita will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery at 8:30 AM.
