On March 12, 2016, Craig Michael Hoss went home to be with his Lord and Savior. His life on earth was blessed abundantly and is being celebrated by his family and loved ones. Craig was born on July 16, 1942, in El Paso, Texas, to Beatrice Hoss and Lester Hoss.
Craig was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Justus Hoss, the mother of his four children: Elizabeth Hoss Frisbey, Johnna Hoss Moss, Craig Michael Hoss, Jr. and Melissa Diane Hoss. In 1987, God called Joan home.
Craig was blessed when he met Gloria Jean Connor. They were married in 1991, and Craig became a loving father to Gloria’s two daughters, Renee DeGroat and Andrea DeGroat Fox. Craig and Gloria were the loves of each other’s lives.
Craig graduated from Austin High School and attended the University of Texas at El Paso. In high school, Craig began working for White’s Home and Auto Stores where he worked his way into management and remained employed there for over two decades. Thereafter, Craig earned his securities license and worked as a financial advisor, partnering with his son-in-law, Oscar Frisbey, until his retirement.
Craig Hoss was an amazing and dedicated husband, father, step-father, grandfather, friend and colleague. He illuminated the lives of all who were blessed to know him. He loved his family and spending time with them, whether it be celebrating a birthday or holiday, having fun in the casinos in Las Vegas, or riding on a speed boat at Elephant Butte or Lake Travis. Craig loved a good game of tennis and having dinner with his tennis buddies once a week. Craig is survived by his siblings, Betty Jo Hoss Aldrich and Richard Hoss; his wife, Gloria Jean Hoss; his children, Elizabeth Hoss Frisbey and her husband, Oscar Alan Frisbey; Johnna Hoss Moss, Craig Michael Hoss, Jr.; and Melissa Diane Hoss; his stepdaughters Renee DeGroat and Andrea DeGroat Fox, and his grandchildren: John Matthew Frisbey, Michael Andrew Frisbey, Austin Alan Frisbey, Madison Marie Moss and Matthew Mitchell Moss.
