Cristobal (Chris) our beloved Son, Father, Brother and Amigo has gone to be with our Lord. Our great story teller and golfer has traded in his clubs for angel wings. Left to cherish his stories are his Mother, Catalina Abreo, sons; Chris L Abreo (Karen), Robert R Abreo, David J Abreo (Rene); grandchildren Misty, Normandy, Emma and Mila and 3 great grandchildren; brother Danny Abreo (Margie) sisters; Lupe Somers, Frances Silva and Sally Carrillo (Jacinto). He is welcomed in heaven by his wife Rosa Maria and our Father, Juan White Abreo, brothers; Johnny, Ramon, Heriberto, Juan Luis Abreo sisters; Altagracia Navarrette and Lucy Morales.
He attended Beall Elementary and Jefferson High where he played for the State golf championship game and graduated from University of Texas at El Paso. His life experiences were vast from caddying at Fort Bliss Golf Club to being a Paratrooper, Father, bank examiner for FDIC and then working for the World Bank and IMF in foreign countries. These experiences expanded his cheerful disposition and fueled his great story telling. He made enduring friendships everywhere he went with the FDIC and Mexico, Panama, and Honduras. He loved to travel with his family and friends and road trips throughout the USA were his favorite.
Most of his adult life he lived in other Texas cities but returned to El Paso to be close to our Mother and his love of the mountains. He is fondly known for his frugality but was also extremely generous with many charitable organizations. He was a devout Catholic and returning to El Paso reminded him of his humble beginning at San Juan Parish and San Antonio de Padua and quickly found a new home at St Luke Catholic Church.
