He was born to parents Everett Lee Evans and Nancy Lou Averill, on 03 August 1955 in Chicago, Illinois.
He graduated from Anaheim High School in 1973. He went on to study Criminal Justice at the University of Phoenix and graduated with a Masters of Science.
Daniel worked as a Supervisory Customs and Border Protection Officer. After 28 years of service, he retired from Customs and Border Protection in 2019. He additionally served 3 years Active Duty and 6 years Reserved with the US Air Force accumulating 35 years of Federal service and totaling 46 years in the law enforcement field. He enjoyed Sunsets, Trains, Airplanes, M*A*S*H, History, Star Trek, Baseball, Football, Mexican Novellas, Laughter, Bad Music, & Bad Jokes. He also loved his 5 chihuahuas, 2 question marks, and 2 cats.
In 1975 Daniel was honored by the US Air Force with a Commendation for Outstanding Achievement in the Superior Performance of his duties for saving the life of a motorist while on his way to work. Other honors include: 9 Golden Eagle Awards, 1 Platinum Eagle Award, and several other awards while working for Customs and Border Protection. Daniel met Emma Rosa Torres in 1998. They were married on 23 December 2000 in El Paso, TX. Together they raised 2 children: Roberto Evans Torres & Eunice Evans Torres.
Daniel is survived by Charles Evans (Son), James Evans (Son), Julie Evans (Daughter-in-law), Melanie Evans (Granddaughter), Ava Evans (Granddaughter), Johnathon Evans (Son), Jennifer Evans (Daughter-in-law), Mary Evans (Granddaughter), James LaBuy (Stepson), Benjamin Evans (Son), Elizabeth Evans (Daughter), Ronald Evans (Son), Raymond Evans (Grandson), Steven Evans (Son), Jacob Dassero (Son-in-law), Jacob Torres (Grandson), & Nancy Hoyt (Sister). He was preceded in death by Everett Evans (Father), Nancy Evans (Mother), & Kenzie LaBuy (Granddaughter).
The family has entrusted Funeraria del Angel Restlawn with the arrangements. A Visitation has been scheduled for 3 August 2020 15:00-22:00 at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn Chapel with CBP Honor Guard. The Funeral will be held at Ft. Bliss 4 August 2020 09:30 with military honors.
