It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel Rene Licón, 55, of El Paso, Texas, who left this world on November 26, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Danny was a cherished son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend whose kindness and infectious spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a kind, gentle, and generous soul, always bringing warmth and joy to those around him.
Danny worked alongside his father in the family’s engineering business, SLI, where he found purpose and pride. He had a genius for numbers, dates, and times, which often amazed those around him.
Danny enjoyed his involvement with "Los Que Van Quedando," a Cathedral High School Alumni group. Although he did not graduate from Cathedral, he cherished the connection to his father’s alma mater and embraced the camaraderie with many of his father's friends.
Danny had a remarkable ability to forge friendships that started at Mesita Elementary and continued through El Paso High School and beyond, creating bonds that would last a lifetime. Danny had a way of making everyone feel valued and appreciated, and his laughter was genuinely infectious. He enjoyed sharing stories, and his humor always brought smiles to those around him.
The golf course held a special place in Danny’s heart. It served as his Happy Place, where he found peace and happiness surrounded by friends and family.
Danny enjoyed the togetherness of sharing a meal with family and friends. Whether it was a large family meal gathering or pie and coffee with friends, each meal was an opportunity to connect, share, and create lasting memories.
