Dave and I grew up together on 5th Street SE in Canton Ohio. In October of 1961 we joined the USAF together. He was assigned to Spain and I went to England. The photo shows us in Spain while I was on leave. Upon returning to the US our friendship continued through our twenties into our early thirties when he relocated to El Paso. Unfortunately, as things happened , we didn’t maintain contact after that. I am very sorry to learn of his passing.

David was a great friend of mine since I was 10 and he was 19 as an air force cadet. 

Coincidentally our career paths were joined by way of the Hoover Company, where Dave was the IP Plant Manager. As time went on Dave was recruited by another former Hoover Manager for a start up operation in Juarez, Mexico.

Around 1986, the Hoover Company set up assembly operations in Juarez.
Knowing that, along with Dave’s good standing with Hoover Executives; they recruited him for the new start up operations.

A perfect fit for Dave, as his existing employment at the time was in Juarez.
That ensured  a good start up operation for Hoover given his prior Hoover duration plus his connections to a workforce in Mexico.

So not only did I have the pleasure working with Dave in Juarez while on a multitude of company assignments, we were able to golf.
I actually started playing golf with Dave in the late 1970s through 2021.

Dave was a good golfer as we played in many matches, including our favorite golf trips to Myrtle Beach, SC.

You can see where Dave’s name appeared as a winner three times for the Jim Joyce Memorial tournament.
