Dave was born on December 30th, 1953 in El Paso, Texas. Growing up in a military family, he had the opportunity to live in many locations, including Okinawa, Japan. Dave was a 1972 graduate of Andress High School and shortly after became a flight attendant for Continental Airlines where he developed his love of flying. He continued his career as a driver for UPS where he worked for 32 years until his retirement in 2016. In 1979, Dave met and married the love of his life, Kathy Ashcraft, and they were together for over 40 years. He never met a stranger and developed lifelong friendships through the local bowling league at Bowlero Lanes. Dave was always planning his next trip to Walt Disney World where he created lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. During his retirement, he and Kathy frequently cruised with friends and family, and they completed their dream of moving to Arlington, Texas where he attended all home games and cheered on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. In the last few years, he realized his passion for golf and had to get in 2 rounds a week. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his three grandchildren.
Dave is survived by his daughters Crystal Nunez (Isaac) of Pflugerville, Texas, Nicole Heflin (Shaun) of Mansfield, Texas, along with grandchildren Logan Nunez and Cameron and Quinn Heflin.
