

He was a proud Navy Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and was an appointed rank of Journalist Third Class. After his deployment, he worked as a mechanic and salesman at Sears for many years. David enjoyed fishing, camping, and writing short stories and poetry. He loved visiting family in California to enjoy the wine and seafood. He especially loved “his girls”– all of his many pups.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda C. Morales. He is survived by his children, Peggy, Darleen, David Jr (Claudia), and Michael (Nicole); grandchildren, Jazmine, Jaden, Michelle, Ivan, Brandon, and Daniel; great grandchildren, Arielly, Naveila, Naya, London, and Maleni; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., with Rosary at 6 p.m., on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N Carolina Drive. Funeral mass will be Friday, January 23, 2026 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, 3021 Frutas Ave., at 1p.m. David will be laid to rest on his birthday, Jan. 23, at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Bliss Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave. Celebration of Life reception will follow.
