

Delfone “Dale” Elias Nasser, Sr., 84, went peacefully into our Lord’s loving arms January 22, 2013. Dale was born on November 14, 1928, in Cambridge, OH, to Elias and Marie Nasser. Dale served in the Army for a brief time after which he started a long and successful career in the car dealership industry for over 40 years. He was General Manager of Fortune Lincoln Mercury. He was recognized as the number one general manager in the country several years. Dale was very involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Downtown Optimist Club of El Paso, where he served for over 60 years and led projects such as the Little Boy Blue and Sister Too Picnic and annual Spaghetti dinners. He served 60 years in various leadership roles at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church where he chaired the annual May Festival and Senior Citizens Dinner. He served on the Board of Directors for OneSource Federal Credit Union for 25 years. He was recognized for his outstanding volunteer service over the years by the City of El Paso when he was inducted into the Older El Pasoans Hall of Fame in 2009.Dale loved spending time with family and friends in the warm El Paso climate, swimming, barbecuing and watching Cowboys football. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. Dale is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Surella Cecile Nasser; sons Dale Jr. and wife Michelle and Daniel and wife Kathleen; daughter Deanna; and grandchildren Theodore, Dale III, Nicholas, Ellen, Joseph, Alyse, Danielle, and Levi. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013, from 5 to 8 pm at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler with a Trisagion service at 7 pm that night. Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 120 N. Festival with Rev. Fr. George Al-Dehneh, V. Rev. Fr. Jehad Michael and V. Rev. Fr. Bob Bethoney officiating. Pallbearers will be Dr. Edward Assi, Dr. Muneer Assi, Mark Davis, Christopher Ferris, Paul Ferris, Jr., Paul Ferris, Sr., Joseph Nasser, Dr. George Rizk, Alex Tayem, and Theodore Zounis. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Elias Nasser III, Nicholas Matthew Nasser, Levi Michael Nasser, Charles Elias, George Elias, William “Billy” Elias, Dennis Harmier, Robert Kautz, and Roger Loper. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 120 N. Festival, El Paso, TX 79912. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, TX 79912.
